Mikyle Gregory (SEED MD '20) has always wanted to make the most of new experiences and explore life to the fullest. Since starting his journey at The SEED School of Maryland when he was eleven years old, Mikyle has played on the school’s soccer and basketball teams, been a member of the robotics and recycling clubs, and traveled the world—all while maintaining a stellar GPA.

“I came to SEED because I wanted to start a new adventure. Because of SEED, I have traveled to Ireland, Brazil, and Jamaica. These experiences were amazing. I made friends and connections that I still maintain to this day.”

Now, a high-school senior, Mikyle is preparing to start his college career at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), majoring in computer science and engineering. Though this is a difficult and uncertain time for our world, Mikyle is hopeful and excited to enroll in college this fall.

"This is a weird time to be going to college, but one of the things that I've learned at SEED is that life is all about stepping outside of my bubble and pushing myself to experience new things."

Mikyle’s determination to excel is one of the key reasons he was selected as a 2020 SEED Foundation Scholarship recipient. Mikyle and 14 other exceptional scholarship recipients will receive up to $3,000 each year to pay for college essentials—such as books, technology, housing, food, and transportation.

“I take a lot of pride in my academic success. Earning The SEED Foundation Scholarship motivates me to excel in everything that I do. SEED has helped me get ready for college, and this scholarship will help me start school at my top choice without putting a financial strain on my family.”
